Meta info usually refers to the meta description and meta keywords. When performing Search Engine Optimization (SEO), having relevance meta info and page contents will gain you a better score. Meta info itself does not give you a great boost in search engine optimization. It is how relevance it is with the page content is important.
Also, most search engines will use the meta description on your web-site to display a brief description of your site info. An attractive description will more likely to receive more click throughs from organic searaches.
